About Tower of Doom
The goal of the player in the Tower of Doom game is to build up towers to defend against incoming troops. In this free online defence game, players protect their tower in a quest to destroy the enemy's territories. Designed by Louissi with a soundtrack by Hades and Waterflame, Tower of Doom offers a unique spin on tower defence with an interesting twist, cool graphics, and many additional options for added entertainment.
The game consists of a popular basic premise: protect the tower from attacking forces through firepower and upgrades. The reason players must protect the tower is that the tower is cooking up an extremely powerful Destruction Spell, which will decimate the land. The Destruction Spell takes a considerable amount of time, and the only way the player will be able to pull off the spell is to hold the enemies at bay.
At the top of the screen, a countdown clock displays the "Time to Total Destruction" for reference during the waves. The screen depicts a lone tower in the centre. Enemies enter from both ends of the field and advance upon the tower. Players must make sure they build up the tower with enough strength to withstand all oncoming waves of enemies.
Players click on the lower right-hand button to go into their castle, where they amp up their defences by purchasing upgrades to their tower. There are four types of towers: Fire Towers, Magic Towers, Ballista Towers, and Frost Towers. Each type of tower possesses its own arsenal of deference tactics. The Arrow or Ballista, turrets are inexpensive, but lack a lot of power. The Magic towers are a bit more costly but feature fire magic balls with a lot of range. This tower also deals well with high-volume attacks. The Fire turrets are pricey offerings with incredible amounts of power. The final tower, Frost, offers low amounts of damage, but the ice it shoots slows down the enemies.
The Tower of Doom game spans the distance of eight levels, which are represented by the lands, which the player must place their towers upon in order to begin the process of casting the Destruction Spell. The first land is Aragoth, a tutorial level. The tutorial level takes players through the first land with a full set of instructions and tips to take even the least knowledgeable gamer through the game play process, allowing them to gain skill before trying their luck at the progressingly difficult levels. The lands increase in difficulty as players enter Narjinah, Futland, Telaroth, Beldar, and Centori. The seventh land, Lion Peak is the King's homeland, meaning this land will be one of the most difficult against which to defend the tower. The final land is Infiniland- a veritable Sandbox level, with heavy attacks and longer waves, making the goal of this level a high score.
Tower of Doom has a unique twist in that the goal is not just to kill all incoming troops, but to hold them off long enough to cast a terribly destructive spell upon the land. Tower of Doom is an inventive game from Armor Games and game designer Louissi, offered for free online play.
